STONE COUNTER BASICS
Granite is known to be one of the strongest, most durable, and most beautiful natural building materials used throughout history. However, there are some common myths about granite that would oppose those facts. Take a moment to learn more about granite countertops, and how they will shine in your kitchen or bathroom.
Impervious
Granite is quite impervious to water, and is less absorbent than many solid surface products, including many plastics, wood, and concrete.
Stain Resistant
Your Granite countertop will resist stains. Spilled liquids will not stain if wiped up within a few minutes. If a liquid does leave a darker coloured spot, it should evaporate within minutes. Oils and other liquids that do not evaporate can stain if left to soak.
Many stains will evaporate in time. Even liquids that cannot evaporate, such as oils, can be removed using a paste or poultice that will draw out the liquid.
Durable and Lasts a Lifetime
Your counter will last for a lifetime and will look new for years after your purchase. It maintains its shine, resists heat and is scratch resistant.
Low Maintenance
Some granite never needs to be sealed. If yours does, we can provide you with an easy to use sealant. The sealer will need to be reapplied every 3-5 years, or once a year on heavily used counters. Sealing is a very quick and simple process.
